Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of six health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Social Work, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. The School teaches approximately 600 PharmD students and 145 graduate students. Position Summary
The Research Assistant will support health services, pharmacoepidemiology, implementation, and medication-use research projects focused on improving care quality, medication safety, and outcomes among older adults and other clinically complex populations. The position will contribute to multiple stages of the research process, including literature review and evidence synthesis, study documentation, development of data-collection tools, data management and quality control, statistical or qualitative analysis, and preparation of abstracts, manuscripts, reports, presentations, and grant materials.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Management Preferences
Coursework in public health, biomedical sciences, social science, or related field.
Experience conducting literature reviews, synthesizing the peer-reviewed research, data analysis in Excel or similar program, and study design.
