SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

The position of Government Guaranteed Lending Loan Closing Team Lead guides a team of loan closing specialists by performing hands-on oversight of their daily work as required. Specifically, the position is responsible training and coaching the closing team members to ensure their loan files are complete, accurate, and compliant with Bank and Guaranteed Loan Program policies and procedures. This Senior Closer role also includes reviewing and providing guidance on decisions with loan closing, updating and maintaining operational procedures and forms. Additionally, the Team Lead is directly responsible for closing their own loans and managing their own pipeline.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Guides, trains and assists the Loan Closing specialists in an effort to meet personal, departmental & corporate goals.
  • Prepare loan documents according to credit approval using LaserPro documentation system.
  • Responsible for closing individual loans and managing a personal loan pipeline.
  • Conduct and document all mandatory due diligence searches, including CAIVRS, SAM.gov, and OFAC.
  • Perform and perfect UCC searches and filing.
  • Manage end-to-end entry of loan applications in E-Tran, ensuring all data is accurate for timely submission and approval.
  • Engages Legal counsel as applicable and Schedules Borrower Calls.
  • Ability to explain the closing process, outstanding items to the borrowers, and follows up to obtain all outstanding items to close the loans in a timely manner.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for borrowers and legal counsel.
  • Assists in preparing files and documents for audits as required.
  • Trains new Loan Closing Specialists and provides ongoing training as required.
  • Maintains and updates the SBA 7a Small Loan Closing procedures manual as needed, ensuring all procedures are current and in compliance with Bank policies and the SBA's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Provides support to SBA 7a Small Loan Closing Specialists team as a back-up when short-staffed or at peak workload times, or as otherwise directed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multitask and pivot seamlessly between competing priorities to prevent bottlenecks and maintain loan movement.
  • Acts as a liaison, as necessary, with the Small Business Administration to ensure compliance with loan closing activities.
  • Reviews/corrects Bank and SBA Loan Documents prior to loan signing.
  • Maintains oversight and guidance of loan closing turn-times for all loan transactions.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities -- knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.

COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of workflow management and possession of strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to include written and verbal skills, with emphasis on group presentation skills and the ability to influence.
  • Proficiency and thorough knowledge of SBA-required due diligence platforms (CAIVRS,SAM, Tax Guard, ETRAN)
  • Demonstrated expertise in using effective problem solving and analytical skills with ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to problem-solve, think critically, decision-make, and appropriately escalate issues when necessary.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • Education: Requires High School Diploma or GED, Degree in Business or Finance desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years SBA experience is required, with three or more years of experience in SBA 7a Small Loan Closings preferred.
  • Knowledge: Proficient knowledge of SBA's Standard Operating Procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ETRAN is required. Knowledge of Navigator Fiserv, LaserPro, DocuSign, PCFS Loan Manager, not required but preferred.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

On the job training and any additional training as identified by management. Required annual compliance training. Ongoing SBA SOP Training.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time. Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers. Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is 100% remote. Candidate must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology are delivered. Travel may be required to come to meetings as needed.

In accordance with Colorado and Virginia law: Pay for this position is anticipated to be between $76,260.00 - $121,819.00 , actual offers to be determined based on applicant's skills, experience and education.
