We are seeking a Plant Manufacturing Engineer to join our Navy Systems team based in York, PA. Our team at the Grantley Plant custom design, develops, manufactures, ships, installs, and maintains industrial HVAC equipment for Navy vessels of all sizes. This position is responsible for providing direct production support within the plant by rapidly addressing and dispositioning all nonconformances (NCs) generated in the manufacturing area. This role is focused on immediate problem resolution to ensure production flow is maintained without unnecessary delays. When issues arise, the Manufacturing Engineering Specialist goes directly to the source to investigate, understand the problem, and generate a clear, timely disposition to keep product moving. The Plant Manufacturing Engineering remains connected to each nonconformance through completion, actively assisting in removing obstacles that would normally delay repair time and ensuring the disposition is fully executed. This position also works collaboratively with Manufacturing Engineers, Welding Engineers, Quality, and Production leadership to develop corrective actions that prevent the recurrence of production issues. The role is responsible for supporting and reinforcing the plant's lean culture by ensuring established processes, procedures, and standard work are consistently followed and improved where needed. The Plant Manufacturing Engineering applies sound engineering, economic, and problemsolving methods to maintain efficient, compliant, and costeffective manufacturing operations.
Pay: $85,000 - $100,000. Based on experience and qualifications

As aPlant Manufacturing Engineer, you will: PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Serves as the primary owner for reviewing, investigating, dispositioning, and following each nonconformance (NC) through completion within Area 974, ensuring timely resolution and uninterrupted product flow.
- Goes directly to the source of each issue to gather facts, understand root cause, and implement immediate corrective actions needed to keep production moving.
- Actively assists production, quality, and support teams in removing obstacles that would normally delay repair or rework activities, ensuring dispositions are fully executed without unnecessary downtime.
- Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineers, Welding Engineers, and Quality to develop sustainable corrective actions for recurring issues, ensuring longterm stability and improved process reliability.
- Provides clear and timely technical guidance to operators, supervisors, and support staff when production issues arise, ensuring clarity around dispositions, requirements, and next steps.
- Ensures established processes, procedures, and standard work are consistently followed within assigned production areas; identifies gaps and works with ownership teams to close them.
- Identifies opportunities to improve process stability, reduce waste, and enhance product quality through application of lean manufacturing principles.
- Participates in and supports 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives, driving a culture of discipline, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Documents NC investigations, dispositions, corrective actions, and process updates, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and compliance with internal requirements.
- Analyzes NC trends and production issues to identify systemic problems; provides feedback to engineering and leadership for proactive improvement initiatives.
- Supports implementation of changes to processes, equipment, or workflows aimed at enhancing reliability, throughput, and production efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of handson experience in manufacturing, production support, or process engineering preferred.
- Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to rapidly diagnose and resolve production issues directly at the source.
- Demonstrated experience investigating nonconformances (NCs), generating dispositions, and driving issues through full completion.
- Ability to remove roadblocks that delay repair, rework, or returntoproduction activities, working effectively across departments to maintain workflow.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, standard work, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis and corrective action development.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across welding engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality, and production.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), production support software tools, and email communication.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
