Job Overview We are seeking a skilledShop Technician for our Salt Lake City dealership location to deliver high-quality component repairs, testing, and failure analysis on construction machinery. You will troubleshoot equipment issues, generate accurate repair quotes, and complete assigned tasks efficiently within flat-rate times. Working safely and cleanly according to regulatory guidelines, you will also manage work orders, parts requests, and diagnostic records through digital service databases. Key Job Responsibilities Complete assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate times and re-do metric. Work safely and follow all KEC/Customer safety policies and procedures. Complete related paperwork and access databases require to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely. Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations. Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision. Ability to provide accurate quotes and pricing estimates to the customer. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs. Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments. Apply general failure analysis and procedures to determine proper diagnosis. Qualifications/Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required Associate Degree in Diesel Technology or equivalent preferred Minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Knowledge of database software, Internet software, manufacturing software and order processing systems Uses intuition and experience to complement data Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner Responds promptly to customer needs Prioritizes and plans work activities Reacts well under pressure; accepts responsibility for own actions; follows through on commitments Meets productivity standards; completes work in a timely manner Observes safety procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions Company Benefits Komatsu provides an extensive and robust employee benefits package that is designed to enhance the well-being of our employees and family members.
