The University of Virginia's number one ranked Department of Student Health and Wellness (SHW) provides a comprehensive range of medical, mental health, well-being, and disability support services to all enrolled undergraduate and graduate students. The University of Virginia's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), a unit within the Department of Student Health and Wellness, is seeking to hire a full-time mental health professional for the position of Staff Psychotherapist. This position provides triage assessment, crisis intervention, brief treatment (individual, couple or group therapy), and referral assistance for students. The Staff Psychotherapist also provides community outreach and serves as a consultant to faculty, staff, parents, students, and other community members seeking assistance in addressing students' psychological concerns. The Staff Psychotherapist may also offer supervision and didactic instruction to therapists in training. Staff Psychotherapist responsibilities include:
