STV is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join our growing Buildings team in Boston. This individual will lead interior design efforts for complex building projects, partnering with architects, planners, engineers, and clients to create thoughtful, functional, and high-performing interior environments. The ideal candidate is a collaborative design leader with strong technical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for advancing design excellence. This role will guide projects from programming and concept development through construction administration, mentor junior staff, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients and project teams. Responsibilities * Lead interior design projects and workstreams through all phases of design and construction. * Develop programming, test fits, space plans, design concepts, material palettes, furniture strategies, and presentation materials. * Collaborate with architects, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate interior design solutions within larger project goals. * Interface directly with clients to understand project objectives, facilitate workshops, present design concepts, and build long-term relationships. * Prepare and oversee production of construction documents, specifications, finish schedules, and furniture documentation. * Coordinate with furniture manufacturers, vendors, consultants, and contractors throughout project delivery. * Conduct quality reviews and ensure design intent, technical accuracy, and project standards are maintained. * Participate in site visits, field observations, punch walks, and construction administration activities. * Mentor junior designers and provide guidance related to design development, documentation, and professional growth. * Support business development activities, proposal preparation, project interviews, and thought leadership initiatives. Qualifications * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field. * 8+ years of professional interior design experience with progressive responsibility on complex building projects. * Experience leading projects through programming, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. * Strong space planning, workplace strategy, and interior detailing experience. * Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and common visualization tools. * Experience with furniture systems, finish selection, specifications, and FF&E coordination. * Strong understanding of building systems, life safety requirements, accessibility standards, and applicable building codes. * Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills. * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Preferred Qualifications * NCIDQ certification. * LEED Accredited Professional and/or WELL Accredited Professional. * EDAC certification. * Experience with healthcare, higher education, workplace, science & technology, civic, or public-sector projects. * Familiarity with workplace management platforms, CAFM/IWMS systems, and occupancy planning tools.
