Job Description:

Core Responsibilities (All HVAC/R Technician Levels)

All HVAC/R Technicians are expected to:

  • Support safe, reliable operation of HVAC and refrigeration systems in GMP and facility environments
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting activities appropriate to experience level
  • Maintain compliance with GMP, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Document maintenance activities and work orders in SAP CMMS
  • Utilize maintenance tools, equipment, and applicable software systems effectively
  • Identify and communicate maintenance, safety, reliability, and compliance concerns
  • Support facility operations and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Follow all PPE, lockout/tagout, and site safety requirements

HVAC/R Technician I

Focus: Skill development and foundational HVAC/R experience.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with HVAC/R maintenance, repair, and installation activities
  • Support welding, brazing, soldering, fabrication, and rigging activities
  • Operate mobile equipment as required
  • Develop troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills under guidance
  • Support facility and equipment reliability initiatives

HVAC/R Technician II

Performs all Technician I responsibilities plus:

  • Independently troubleshoot and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems
  • Install, maintain, and service mini-split systems
  • Troubleshoot HVAC electrical controls and power systems
  • Diagnose and repair gas heating systems
  • Support cooling towers, heating systems, and related utility equipment
  • Identify and address complex equipment issues

HVAC/R Technician III

Performs all Technician I and II responsibilities plus:

  • Diagnose and repair complex HVAC/R system failures
  • Troubleshoot advanced refrigeration equipment and integrated utility systems
  • Lead HVAC system optimization and energy-efficiency efforts
  • Support predictive maintenance and reliability programs
  • Troubleshoot controls, BAS, SCADA, and automation-related systems
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Facilities, and Utilities teams on system improvements
  • Recommend long-term reliability and equipment improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

Core Qualifications (All HVAC/R Technician Levels)

All HVAC/R Technicians should possess:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of HVAC/R systems appropriate to experience level
  • Understanding of safety practices, PPE requirements, and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to reliability
  • Ability to use maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in GMP, manufacturing, mechanical, and utility environments
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, reach, and work in elevated or confined spaces as required
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, parts, equipment, and materials within site safety guidelines
  • Ability to comply with site safety requirements, including PPE, lockout/tagout, hot work, and other applicable procedures

HVAC/R Technician I

Additional Qualifications:

  • EPA 608 Certification required or obtained within an established timeframe
  • 0-3 years of HVAC or mechanical maintenance experience
  • HVAC technical program enrollment or completion preferred
  • GMP or regulated manufacturing experience preferred
  • Familiarity with SAP CMMS preferred
  • Basic brazing, soldering, and refrigeration knowledge preferred

HVAC/R Technician II

Performs all Technician I qualifications, plus:

  • EPA 608 Certification required
  • Heating Mechanics I License required or in progress
  • 2-4+ years of HVAC or mechanical maintenance experience
  • Approximately 1,800 hours of HVAC experience or training
  • Experience troubleshooting HVAC/R systems independently
  • Experience with mini-split systems
  • Working knowledge of HVAC electrical systems, controls, and gas heating equipment
  • Understanding of cooling towers and related utility systems
  • SAP CMMS proficiency

HVAC/R Technician III

Performs all Technician I and II qualifications, plus:

  • 4-7+ years of HVAC or mechanical maintenance experience
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and repair complex HVAC/R systems
  • Advanced knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and controls systems
  • Experience with integrated utilities and facility support systems
  • Experience with SCADA, BAS, controls systems, or automation platforms preferred
  • Experience supporting predictive maintenance and reliability programs preferred
  • Knowledge of vibration analysis, reliability practices, and system optimization preferred
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to lead complex troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives

Location: Spokane, WA - On Site, Full-Time

Shift: Weekend Nights - Friday-Suday + E/O Thursday - 6pm-6am

Hiring Wage:

HVAC Tech I: $25.93-$30.50 hourly + 15% shift differential, with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises.

HVAC Tech II: $28.81-$33.89 hourly + 15% shift differential, with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises.

HVAC Tech III: $32.01 - $37.65 hourly + 15% shift differential, with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises.
