Job Summary The Assistant Director of Finance and Business Analysis is a critical leader in the Student Life Finance and Business Services team for the Division of Student Life. The position is responsible for a wide range of activities that support the financial planning, analysis, reporting, financial oversight, risk mitigation and the overall business activities for the Division of Student Life financial portfolio. The position oversees the Finance and Business Analysis team of five professionals who deliver financial support to the division's departments. This role advises the team on questions arising from departmental operations by participating in department meetings and partnering with staff to identify standard processes and promote crosscollaboration. The position emphasizes consistent application of accounting and operational standards across the division, helping to prevent silos or inconsistencies. This includes, and is not limited to, oversight of customized reporting, control and approval of general ledger transactions, month- and year-end fiscal close procedures, units' budget development, business process improvement initiatives, and multi-year strategic planning and reporting efforts. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail and organization, along with demonstrated experience leading and mentoring a highperforming team to ensure equitable, consistent, and highquality support for all departments. Student Life Finance Student Life Financial Planning and Reporting is a centralized service center for the Division of Student Life that provides support in all financial and accounting areas. Staff collaborate with departments to understand their operational processes in order to best advise them on appropriate accounting and financial practices. They assist with budget planning and financial management best practices, financial reporting and analysis, billing and invoicing services and more.
