MPS, a division of Macmillan Publishers, a leading US publisher of Trade and Academic titles, has a job opening for a Material Handler for our Receiving Department in our Gordonsville, Virginia facility. MPS provides back office support, warehousing, and, fulfillment for Macmillan US, and is their primary distribution facility for North America.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • WMS - Looks up locations and retrieves order status information.
  • Removes shrink-wrap from pallets in preparation for them to be located in the racks.
  • Sorts books and breaks down assortments of books.
  • Loads the induction line.
  • Operates the Cubi-Scan to dimension size the book and carton (length, width, height, weight).


Miscellaneous Duties of All General Warehouse Employees:



  • Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area.
  • Conducts operations in a manner which promotes safety.
  • Enforces established safety, health, and housekeeping policies and procedures in order to minimize injuries, loss of production time, and damage.
  • Conforms to all company policies and procedures (Employee Handbook)
  • Complies with all environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Computer Skills


Hourly Rate: $17.2800 to $17.9800
