Title: Sr. IT Systems Engineer

Location: Jacksonville, FL (Hybrid - 2 days onsite a week)

Duration: 6 months with a potential for extension/conversion

Team Overview:

  • The team manages application delivery controllers (ADCs), reverse proxies, Microsoft IIS servers, PKI (public key infrastructure/certificates), and proxy infrastructure. They handle traffic distribution from websites to backend application servers.

  • Looking for a mid-to-senior level hands-on engineer to support Application Delivery Controller (ADC) functions and cloud migrations.



Position Overview:

  • Sr. IT Systems Engineer - WebSphere to Cloudpak migration, Tomcat/NodeJS Support with CMS 9/12 Audit + JSM support to provide technical support, troubleshoot problem and perform scripting/programming to ensure stable and efficient operation of technology solutions.
  • IT Sr. Systems Engineers are responsible for monitoring, installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting and maintenance of websphere/Liberty/nodeJS/WebLogic solutions.
  • IT Systems Engineers provide technical support, troubleshoot problem and perform scripting etc. Experience in CloudPak/OpenShift platform devopts nodejs administration Jenkins, GIT lab etc is a plus.
  • They should be conversant with websphere migrations along with Liberty, IHS, netscaler configurations.
  • Tomcat servers experience and other opensource web servers experience is also required for this particular assignment.
  • Experience in SOC2/ OIG/CMS auditing preparation, JSM submission, Vulnerability management and applying the patches for the Audit remediation etc is a must.
  • They should be able to do coding in common languages in case of necessities for system's monitoring and other related functionalities.



Must Have Skills:

  • 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of transferable experience demonstrating proficiency and experience in design, implementation, monitoring, and troubleshooting technology
  • Related Bachelor's degree in an IT related field or relevant work experience
  • Extensive working knowledge of multiple technologies and their interfaces and integration
  • Competent working in one or more environments highly integrated with an operating system.
  • Extensive experience implementing and administering/managing technical solutions in major, large-scale system implementations
  • High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities
  • Ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance

  • Application Delivery Controllers (ADC): Strong hands-on experience with Citrix NetScaler (Citrix ADC) or F5 (specifically L4 and L7 load balancing/content switching).
  • Hands-on Technical Experience: Must have practical, hands-on operational experience (architect-only candidates without execution experience will not be considered).
  • Proxy Understanding: Fundamental understanding of proxy infrastructure and Secure Web Gateways.
  • Candidates will be technical-vetted on hands-on NetScaler/ADC capabilities.


Nice to Have Skills:

  • Scripting / Automation: PHP, Python, or PowerShell (used for custom task monitoring and NetScaler rewrite policies).
  • Cloud & Migrations: Experience with Google Cloud (GCP) or Azure (Oracle Cloud is also in use); familiarity with native cloud load balancers (AWS ALB/NLB, Azure Load Balancers).
  • Infrastructure: FortiNet FortiProxy experience; Microsoft IIS; PKI/Certificate Management.



Extra Notes:

  • Key Exclusion: Do NOT submit virtualization-only candidates (e.g., Access Gateway / Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops). The team specifically needs L4/L7 ADC Load Balancing & Content Switching expertise.



Note:

  • Must have 5 or more years of experience administering Citrix NetScaler, F5 or another ADC platform exclusively from an application delivery controller perspective.
  • Must have 7 or more years of experience administering Citrix NetScalers.
  • Must have 5 or more years of experience scripting for patching and vulnerability remediation.
  • Must have 3 or more years of experience managing SSL certificates.



Work Environment:

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement which combines flexibility with in-office engagement. Team schedules are determined based on role requirements and business needs. Travel to and from our corporate or regional offices may be required.

Strong Senior Engineer with Citrix NetScaler ADC and Cloud migration (AWS preferred) exp

Description:

  • Senior IT Systems Engineers are responsible for monitoring, installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting and maintenance of technology solutions. Senior IT Systems Engineer's provide technical support and troubleshoot problems and perform scripting/programming to ensure stable and efficient operation of technology solutions.
  • Senior IT Systems Engineers drive and implement automation enhancements and process improvement efforts, are assigned to multiple complex systems/applications. They lead initiatives, oversee work results, provide training and serve as a technical resource for other Systems Engineers.



Essential functions:

  • Performs installation, monitoring, testing, configuration, migration, maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned technology
  • Manages system/application environment and ongoing operations
  • Ensures that the technologies are updated with current, stable, and compliant architecture and applications that meet enterprise standards
  • Working experience with cloud migration/transformation from a load balancing perspective, including native cloud LB and 3rd party/hybrid.
  • Researches, designs, implements and tests technology solutions
  • Proactively monitors and reports performance and utilization of assigned technologies
  • Troubleshoots software and/or hardware issues/failures
  • Resolves alerts and performs remediation activities
  • Manages problem or escalated tickets and tasks and out of cycle requests from systems/software owners
  • Collects and presents data for reporting and planning
  • Assists with developing tactical strategies, processes and procedures related to systems/application administration
  • Determines migration and upgrade impacts and diagnose/resolve complex technology/application errors
  • Collaborates with IT and business area partners on work groups and initiatives
  • Determines best course of action for meeting business needs
  • May provide input into infrastructure architecture designs
  • Writes programming/scripting
  • May participate in Disaster Recovery planning and exercises
  • Ensures execution and alignment to architectural standards and blueprints.
  • May contribute input to infrastructure architecture
  • Performs on-call activities as needed for the environment and technologies



Requirements:

  • Five or more years demonstrated proficiency and experience in design, implementation, monitoring and troubleshooting infrastructure software products.
  • Must have 7 or more years of experience administering Citrix NetScaler ADC functions this includes, but not limited, to layer 4/layer 7 routing PCAP analysis and hardware refresh and migrations.
  • Must have 3 or more years of experience in cloud migrations/transformations.
  • Must have 3 or more years of experience managing SSL certificates.
  • Must have 3 or more years of experience administering Fortinet FortiProxy Server or similar, this includes firmware upgrades and patching.
  • Strong experience working in both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Strong experience working vulnerability management and audit support
  • Strong scripting/programming experience with one or more languages (ex. PowerShell, java, python) regarding audits and automated task scheduling.
  • Ability to support systems using 24x7 on call rotation.
  • Competent working in one or more environments highly integrated with an operating system.
  • Experience implementing and administering/managing technical solutions in major, large-scale system implementations
  • High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy.
