Description and Requirements

Position Description

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience developing and evaluating Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions that support Lenovo's Commercial Customer Quality Management organization. The AI Innovation Intern will work alongside Customer Quality Engineers and technical experts to create tools and workflows that help accelerate customer issue resolution, improve engineering productivity, and enhance data-driven decision making.

In this role, you will assist in the design, testing, and implementation of AI-powered solutions that analyze engineering data, customer feedback, system logs, defect reports, and troubleshooting information. You will help develop innovative approaches that improve root cause analysis, automate repetitive engineering tasks, generate actionable insights from large data sets, and reduce overall time-to-solution for customer field issues.

The position provides exposure to a wide range of technologies, including AI and Generative AI platforms, Large Language Models (LLMs), data analytics tools, automation frameworks, and engineering support systems. You will collaborate with a global team of quality, product, and engineering professionals at one of the world's leading technology companies while gaining practical experience applying AI technologies to real-world business challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and testing AI-based tools that support customer quality and engineering investigations.
  • Analyze customer issue data, system logs, technical documentation, and defect reports to identify opportunities for AI-driven improvements.
  • Design and evaluate prompts, workflows, and automation solutions utilizing Generative AI and Large Language Models.
  • Support proof-of-concept projects focused on accelerating root cause analysis and issue resolution.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that improve engineering insights and decision making.
  • Help validate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, consistency, and engineering relevance.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to identify use cases and requirements for AI-enabled solutions.
  • Document findings, best practices, and recommendations related to AI implementations within Customer Quality Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Interest in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, or Automation technologies.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, C#, or similar languages.
  • Experience with data analysis tools, scripting, databases, or visualization platforms is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Generative AI technologies, prompt engineering, Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, AI Builder, OpenAI services, or similar platforms is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a global team.
