Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment, supports equipment changeovers and production startups, and helps minimize downtime through effective troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Job Responsibilities



  • Perform preventive maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automated production equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform timely repairs using engineering documentation and technical resources.
  • Inspect, test, and operate equipment to verify repairs and ensure proper functionality.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and plant electrical systems, including motors, instrumentation, power distribution, and feed control systems.
  • Assist with equipment changeovers, production line startups, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Complete assigned maintenance work orders accurately and within established timelines.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records, work orders, and equipment documentation using computerized maintenance systems.
  • Identify replacement parts, maintain inventory levels, and recommend parts replenishment.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), OSHA regulations, and food safety requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to maximize equipment performance.
  • Ensure equipment operates safely and produces products that meet quality standards.
  • Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or equipment repair in a production environment preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment required.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and automated manufacturing systems preferred.
  • Experience working with motors, instrumentation, power distribution systems, and feed control systems preferred.
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and maintenance documentation.
  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to lift 50 to 80 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights using ladders, manlifts, and scissor lifts while following safety procedures.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, humidity, and exposure to oils, greases, coolants, and other industrial materials.
  • Ability to meet the visual requirements necessary to safely perform equipment maintenance and inspections.


Education



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical training or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
