Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician supports production operations by performing preventative mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing production equipment, and maintaining the facility.

Compensation is based on experience and skillset. Candidates may be offered aMaintenance TechnicianI, II, or III role, depending on experience and qualifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS For Maintenance Tech I:

• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical systems, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and repair equipment - roll formers, press brakes and resistance welders.
• Comply with applicable regulations and the department's Safety program
• Perform general facility repairs and maintenance
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on production machines.
• Adhere to safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Regular, reliable, punctual, and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS For Maintenance Tech II:

• Analyze, troubleshoot and repair equipment - overhead cranes, roll formers, press brakes and resistance welders.
• Assist with the servicing and repairing of more complex equipment.
• Comply with applicable regulations and the department's Safety program
• Perform general building repairs and maintenance
• Perform general trailer and vehicle maintenance on yard equipment- forklifts, yard trucks, and shop vehicles.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS For Maintenance Tech III:

• Analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment. Assist with the service and repairing of more complex equipment.
• Ability to repair all electrical wiring, electronic and electrical equipment (24 to 480 Volts)
• Complying with applicable regulations according to OSHA and the department's Safety program.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLC programs.
• Provide scheduled and emergency repairs to production equipment during production shift.
• Install and maintain production/facility equipment.

$ 23.05 - 37.15 (+$3.00 shift differential and weekly production bonus. Multiple level - compensation depending on skill set and experience)

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. The range may vary by location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in Canam Steel Corp (CSC)'s benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, (plus additional voluntary benefits) and 401K (with employer match).

REQUIREMENTS For Maintenance Tech I:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical school preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of mechanical experience in a manufacturing setting.
• At least 1 year experience in welding and fabricating preferred.
• Knowledge of overhead cranes, bearings, hydraulics, and drives.
• Experience operating, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of production machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic automotive/trailer maintenance knowledge.
• Must have basic knowledge of lockout tag out and proper PPE.

REQUIREMENTS For Maintenance Tech II:

• At least 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic PLC knowledge/experience.
• Must have low voltage electrical knowledge

REQUIREMENTS For Maintenance Tech III:

• Able to read electrical schematics, and mechanical Drawings
• Able to perform electrical troubleshooting and have a knowledge of electrical controls.
• Must have the ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulics, electrical panels and electric motors.
• Licensed electrician, preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
• Standing for most of the shift, walking, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
• Frequent lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
• Constantly thinking and processing information.
• Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Manufacturing floor with machinery.
• Exposure to airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold.
• Use of personal protection equipment is required.
