Summary:

Presbyterian is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for filling medication orders, pre-packaging, compounding pharmaceuticals, refilling stock supplies, delivering medication, and performing various clerical duties as required.

Type of Opportunity: Full time FTE: 1.00 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: Varied Days and Hours (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

  • Meets and demonstrates competency in all Pharmacy Technician I and II requirements.

  • Successfully completes required training and maintains competency in one or more of the following areas:

    • Sterile medication preparation

    • Pediatric sterile and nonsterile medication preparation

    • Controlled substance inventory, distribution, and disposal

  • Ensures compliance with the department's Controlled Substances Compliance Plan.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician-PTCB
  • Or, Certified Pharmacy Technician-NHA
  • Specialized, short-term training in the areas of pharmacy law, practice standards, terminology, pharmacy math, drug preparation, dosage forms, and trade/generic names.
  • Successful completion of PHS Sterile Products Compounding Competency
  • At least one year of experience in pharmacy or completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program.
