The Philanthropy Specialist Grants identifies funding opportunities, manages grant applications, and writes proposals in support of priority Cone Health programs supporting patient care and community health initiatives.

Essential Job Function:

  • Collaborates with project leaders with the Director of Grants to develop grant proposals with detailed budgets that meets all requirements of Cone Health and of the potential funding source.
  • Maintains pre-award grant material, including copy of full application submission, and sets up pre-award opportunity in Salesforce/Workday.
  • Coordinates site visits from foundations and other funders with Cone Health and keeps active shareable calendar of grants due dates and sets up grant preparation time with stakeholders accordingly.
  • Identifies potential funding sources, primarily non-research, for approved Cone Health programs and projects. Distributes and tracks distribution of prospective funding opportunities to Cone Health grant-seekers and tracks findings in Salesforce NPSP.
  • Maintains standard institutional facts and reports required for most grant applications and regularly works with departments including, People and Culture, Data Analytics, Finance and the CEO's office to obtain the latest information.
  • Responds to requests from Cone Health departments for suggestions on funding sources.
  • Generates standard and ad hoc grant activity reports for Cone Health stakeholders.
  • Provides general administrative support for the director and supports Philanthropy and Grants team standing meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree

Experience:

  • Required: 3 Years of non-profit or grant-seeking experience.
  • Preferred: Experience with grant management.
