POSITION SUMMARY:
KEMRON Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking experienced Response Managers for current and upcoming hazardous waste response, environmental remediation, and cleanup projects primarily supporting the U.S. Virgin Islands within Region 2.
Frequent overnight travel is required for projects throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands and other Region 2 locations based on project needs. Travel may be up to 100% depending on project assignment. Project locations, schedules, durations, and start dates will vary.
The Response Manager provides onsite management and directs multidisciplinary field activities related to chemical cleanup, hazardous waste site cleanup, environmental remediation, and waste disposal. This position supervises field personnel and subcontractors and supports project planning, cost estimating, field coordination, safety, and regulatory compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
  • Direct and supervise foremen, equipment operators, laborers, subcontractors, and other field personnel in completing project activities.
  • Coordinate onsite hazardous waste cleanup, environmental remediation, and waste disposal activities.
  • Perform task hazard analyses and support preparation and implementation of site-specific safety plans.
  • Communicate with clients, project personnel, and field crews to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Develop work plans and detailed cost estimates, including personnel, equipment, transportation, and disposal requirements.
  • Direct subcontract labor, equipment, materials, and related project activities.
  • Coordinate transportation and disposal of hazardous waste, including scheduling, packaging, labeling, manifesting, and loading.
  • Direct daily tailgate safety meetings.
  • Track employee time and direct personnel in safe and proper work procedures.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with KEMRON Standard Operating Procedures, applicable OSHA requirements, project plans, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed and promptly report concerns to appropriate management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience with hazardous waste site cleanup or activities conducted on hazardous waste sites.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience related to hazardous waste site activities.
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science may substitute for one year of required experience.
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC, OSHA requirements, DOT transportation requirements, and RCRA/CERCLA hazardous waste regulations.
  • Working knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in environmental remediation and construction activities.
  • Current 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training required.
  • OSHA 8-Hour Supervisor Training required.
  • Current OSHA-required HAZWOPER refresher training required.
  • First Aid and CPR training required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • FEMA ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 training.
  • CHMM or CHMP certification.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Regularly works at active project sites and in outdoor conditions that may include heat, cold, rain, humidity, dust, noise, and other adverse field conditions.
  • May work near moving mechanical equipment and in hazardous waste, environmental remediation, and construction environments.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work for extended periods in field conditions.
  • Must be able to safely lift, push, pull, and carry materials or equipment as required by assigned duties.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Must be medically qualified and able to use respiratory protection when required, including SCBA, APR, and SAR.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules as required by project needs.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record meeting KEMRON vehicle insurance requirements.
  • Must undergo required medical examinations and maintain applicable medical clearance.
  • Must understand and comply with KEMRON corporate and project-specific Health and Safety Plans, Standard Operating Procedures, and other applicable project requirements.
