Senior Software Engineer - AI Experiences, Microsoft Edge

The Microsoft AI Experiences, Edge browser is a core strategic product and key entry point to Microsoft's new AI ecosystem, serving hundreds of millions of users daily. As the hypercompetitive AI browser ecosystem evolves, the Edge team is focused on continuing to lead. The Edge copilot and cowork engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Copilot team to help deliver sidepane copilot experience, agentic browsing and more.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI Experience employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. • Drive architecture and technical design for multi-tenant, highly available, and secure distributed systems.
• Build and integrate services across Microsoft Edge, Microsoft 365, and Azure ecosystems to deliver end-to-end customer solutions.
• Lead engineering efforts from concept through deployment, including design reviews, implementation, testing, monitoring, and live-site operations.
• Collaborate across partner teams to define technical strategy, align dependencies, and deliver cohesive customer experiences.
• Analyze reliability, scalability, performance, and security challenges, and drive long-term architectural improvements.
• Mentor engineers through technical guidance, design reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Leverage telemetry, customer feedback, and operational insights to continuously improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to a culture of technical excellence, innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
