Description

We are seeking a results-driven Ready-Mix Operations Superintendent to lead and oversee all plant operations in the Cheyenne, Wyoming market. This individual will have full responsibility for operational performance while directly managing Dispatch, Sales, and Production/Operations teams.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a deep understanding of ready-mix concrete operations, capable of balancing safety, quality, customer service, and profitability while driving growth in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Leadership



  • Oversee daily operations of ready-mix production, trucking, and plant maintenance
  • Ensure efficient batching, delivery, and placement support to meet customer demand
  • Monitor and control key cost drivers including labor, fuel, maintenance, and materials
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant and fleet performance and work with local and regional leadership to accomplish goals
  • Ensure all operations comply with company policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental standards


Sales & Customer Management



  • Lead and support the local sales team to achieve revenue and margin targets
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, municipalities, and key customers
  • Participate in bid strategy, pricing decisions, and market development
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand market share in the region
  • Address customer concerns and ensure high levels of service and satisfaction


Dispatch & Logistics



  • Provide leadership and oversight to dispatch to ensure efficient scheduling and routing
  • Optimize truck utilization, delivery timing, and fleet productivity
  • Coordinate closely with sales and operations to meet project demands
  • Implement best practices in dispatch systems and load management


Team Leadership & Development



  • Directly supervise dispatch, sales, drivers, and plant personnel
  • Recruit, train, and develop employees to build a high-performing team
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability standards
  • Foster a culture focused on safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement


Financial & Administrative Oversight



  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and overall plant profitability
  • Analyze operational and financial metrics to drive informed decisions
  • Ensure accurate reporting of production, sales, and operational data
  • Work collaboratively with corporate leadership on strategic initiatives


Qualifications



  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in ready-mix concrete operations or related construction materials industry
  • Proven leadership experience managing operations, dispatch, and/or sales teams
  • Strong understanding of concrete production, quality control, and logistics
  • Experience with budgeting, cost control, and P&L responsibility preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
  • Proficiency with dispatch and operational software systems
  • Valid driver's license required


Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Knowledge of local market conditions in Montana/Wyoming region
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and fleet management best practices
