Responsibilities
We're seeking an expert-level Systems Engineering Specialist to provide strategic systems engineering and integration support. This position requires a flexible, collaborative professional who can work across technical and mission teams, support enterprise planning and governance, and drive process improvements across the customer's portfolio. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Support leadership in strategic planning efforts, translating organizational vision into actionable objectives, roadmaps, and implementation plans; facilitate strategic planning sessions and develop executive-level briefings
- Lead system engineering efforts, conduct systems analysis research, author reviews, and develop recommendations to inform technical decisions and improvements
- Develop and maintain comprehensive systems engineering artifacts, including SOPs, frameworks, process documentation, system diagrams, data flow visualizations, and gap analyses
- Support infrastructure modernization efforts through coordination meetings, Integrated Master Schedule maintenance, stakeholder facilitation, and development of governance artifacts (RACI matrices, shared responsibility models)
- Support technical governance by tracking requirements, coordinating reviews, maintaining decision records, and implementing lightweight tracking processes
- Support AI governance initiatives by ensuring systems comply with AI policies, facilitating compliance reviews, and developing AI-specific governance frameworks and documentation
- Develop and maintain risk management frameworks, risk registers, and system acceptance testing processes
- Conduct in-depth analyses, producing reports, visualizations, and recommendations to stakeholders; prepare technical documentation and executive summaries; capture meeting notes and action items
- Support AI initiatives, including technology stack mapping and data traceability requirements
- Provide expert recommendations on system improvements, technical debt reduction, and process optimizations based on research and analysis findings
Qualifications
Required Qualifications Education and Clearance
- Active TS/SCI with poly clearance
- Minimum of 12 years of experience with BS/BA, 10 years with MS/MA, or 7 years with PhD
- Four additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree
Experience and Knowledge
- 12+ years in systems engineering, process consulting, or program management supporting complex technical programs
- Intelligence community experience required; experience managing technical programs in operational or deployed environments highly valued
- Experience supporting the translation of stakeholder requirements into system requirements, technical specifications, and architecture artifacts
- Experience developing cybersecurity policies, standards, and governance frameworks in support of compliance and accreditation requirements
- Working knowledge of customer IT systems, data policies, and technical governance processes
- Understanding of AI/ML technologies, AI governance frameworks, and systems engineering principles
- Familiarity with cloud security principles, including identity-based access controls, least-privilege frameworks, and data protection strategies
- Experience with infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, or enterprise IT transformation
Skills
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts for senior leadership
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to conduct systems analysis research and develop data-driven recommendations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, collaboration platforms (e.g., Confluence, Hive, SharePoint) and project tracking tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changing requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting delivery across the full project lifecycle, from requirements definition through deployment and transition to operations
- Experience with data management systems, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps practices
- Experience supporting security architecture development or implementing security frameworks and controls
- Experience delivering IT solutions in the field or forward-deployed environments
- Prior experience the customer organization
- Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture principles and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Python)

Target Salary Range
$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
