As a Clinical Pathologist, you will provide expert diagnostic pathology services by evaluating clinical pathology specimens and delivering accurate, timely diagnostic interpretations to veterinary clients. Working as part of IDEXX's Clinical Pathology team, you'll collaborate with a highly skilled group of pathologists who value scientific excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning. In this role, you'll help veterinary professionals make informed patient care decisions through high-quality diagnostics, consultation, and exceptional customer service.

In this role:
  • You will examine clinical pathology specimens and provide accurate diagnostic evaluations for veterinary clients.
  • You'll deliver high-quality pathology reports while maintaining strong turnaround time performance and adherence to best practices.
  • You will provide consultation and follow-up support to help clients understand diagnostic findings and patient care implications.
  • You'll contribute to a culture of quality by maintaining a high level of diagnostic accuracy and participating in peer collaboration when appropriate.
  • You will continuously expand your clinical pathology expertise through continuing education, professional development, and application of new knowledge.
  • You'll actively participate in pathology rounds, team meetings, committees, and collaborative discussions that improve outcomes and strengthen service delivery.
  • You will contribute to educational, research, customer-focused, and project-related initiatives across the pathology organization.
  • You'll build positive working relationships with colleagues by communicating thoughtfully, embracing diverse perspectives, and supporting team decisions.

What you need to succeed:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent veterinary qualification.
  • Board certification from the American College of Veterinary Pathology (ACVP) or European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology (ECVCP)
  • Strong expertise in clinical pathology and interpretation of diagnostic specimens.
  • Ability to provide accurate, detailed, and timely diagnostic evaluations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Comfort working independently while collaborating with colleagues in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with current topics, developments, and issues in clinical veterinary medicine.
  • Service-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to participate in a weekend coverage schedule, including a commitment to work one weekend day as part of your weekly schedule.
