Description

Patient Business Services

Support the daily operations of Patient Business Services by
managing correspondence, maintaining accurate account documentation, processing
claims-related materials, and organizing records for Billing and Collections
teams. As the Senior Clerk, you will help ensure account activity is documented
clearly, correspondence is matched and routed correctly, and completed claims
include the required supporting documentation before submission to payers. This
role helps maintain accurate records and efficient workflows across the
department.

In this role, you will:

* Perform filing, sorting, scanning, and document handling for materials such
as Explanation of Benefits and Medi-Cal Remittance Advices.

* Receive, match, and distribute incoming correspondence and documentation to
the appropriate accounts and staff for follow-up.

* Document account activity accurately and timely, including clear, concise,
and grammatically correct account and folder notes.

* Maintain organized electronic and physical records to support collections,
follow-up activities, and workflow efficiency.

* Mail completed claim forms to insurance carriers with required supporting
documentation.

* Provide administrative and operational support to Correspondence, Billing,
Collections, and other Patient Business Services teams as needed.

Salary Range:

$25.51 to $30.77 hourly

Qualifications

Required

* High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* One or more years of clerical, administrative, or healthcare support
experience.

* Strong data entry and record-keeping accuracy.

* Ability to document clear, detailed, and accurate account notes.

* Effective written and verbal communication skills.

* Understanding of HIPAA and confidentiality standards.

* Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment while
organizing and prioritizing administrative tasks.

* Ability to follow established procedures and office guidelines with strong
attention to detail and accuracy in document handling.

* Ability to collaborate effectively with internal departments and external
agencies.

Preferred

* Familiarity with electronic health record or billing systems.
