Sawyer/Material Handler - Ready Frame Location: Arlington, WA Yard Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate a variety of saw equipment to accurately cut lumber products according to work orders and production specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to maintaining quality and safety standards throughout the production process. Key Responsibilities Review work orders and production specifications to determine required cuts and measurements. Set up and adjust saw equipment, including pop-up saws, miter saws, web saws, and other cutting machinery. Adjust saw speeds and feed roll settings to ensure efficient and accurate operation. Monitor the automatic feeding of lumber into saws and manually position materials as needed. Inspect cut materials to ensure quality and compliance with specifications. Stack, organize, and prepare finished lumber for the next stage of production. Report dull, damaged, or malfunctioning saw blades and equipment to supervisors. Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work area. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred; however, candidates with less formal education and relevant experience are encouraged to apply. Up to one month of related manufacturing, lumber, warehouse, or production experience preferred. Ability to read and follow work orders, instructions, and safety guidelines. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Physical Requirements Regularly required to stand for extended periods and use hands to handle, grasp, and manipulate materials. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate effectively with others. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must possess the ability to maintain close visual attention, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Work Environment Work is performed in a manufacturing and production setting. Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment and machinery. May be exposed to dust, fumes, airborne particles, and varying outdoor weather conditions. Noise levels are frequently high; appropriate hearing protection may be required.
