Sawyer/Material Handler - Ready Frame

Location: Arlington, WA Yard


Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate a variety of saw equipment to accurately cut lumber products according to work orders and production specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to maintaining quality and safety standards throughout the production process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review work orders and production specifications to determine required cuts and measurements.
  • Set up and adjust saw equipment, including pop-up saws, miter saws, web saws, and other cutting machinery.
  • Adjust saw speeds and feed roll settings to ensure efficient and accurate operation.
  • Monitor the automatic feeding of lumber into saws and manually position materials as needed.
  • Inspect cut materials to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Stack, organize, and prepare finished lumber for the next stage of production.
  • Report dull, damaged, or malfunctioning saw blades and equipment to supervisors.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications
Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; however, candidates with less formal education and relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Up to one month of related manufacturing, lumber, warehouse, or production experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, instructions, and safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.


Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand for extended periods and use hands to handle, grasp, and manipulate materials.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate effectively with others.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess the ability to maintain close visual attention, depth perception, and focus adjustment.


Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing and production setting.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • May be exposed to dust, fumes, airborne particles, and varying outdoor weather conditions.
  • Noise levels are frequently high; appropriate hearing protection may be required.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and adherence to all safety policies is essential.
