Your Job

Georgia Pacific's Brewton mill is seeking an E&I Maintenance Planner to support planning in the Utilities Department. Reporting to the Planning Superintendent for the mill, these roles work closely with the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, hourly EI Technicians, and other maintenance and operations personnel to ensure efficient and coordinated maintenance activities. Our Team

The Brewton mill is in south central Alabama about an hour from Mobile, AL, Pensacola, FL, and the beautiful beaches of the Gulf Coast. The team is made up of 450 employees who produce white top linerboard and solid bleached sulfate (SBS) paperboard. The SBS material is used to make GP's Dixie plates. White top linerboard is used in production of corrugated containers and displays. This position is an opportunity to be part of a rapidly expanding organization with tremendous growth potential. The most recent $160M capital investment was completed in late 2024. Brewton was also the first fully integrated pulp and paper mill in the US to receive an Energy Star designation from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. What You Will Do

  • Plan work/ develop job scopes in assigned areas using best-in-class methods (i.e. field walk-downs, detailed step-outs, BOMs, flange tracking, estimating, pictures, sketches, drawings, long text descriptions, templates) to enable the craft to fully understand the scope of work, execute safely and efficiently.
  • Support events assigned during all phases including Pre, Execution, and Post. During the execution phase of events, transition to Field Execution Coordinator as deemed necessary.
  • Ensure that vendors understand the importance of project timelines and expectations
  • Communicate early and often on issues, opportunities, and solutions appropriately
  • Participate/support logistic plan development for each event
  • Develop, pursue, and communicate innovative ideas/solutions to support progressing our competitive advantage, creating superior value, and driving waste elimination (safety, improving reliability, higher yields, lower cost, improving performance, etc.)
  • Promote and nurture an innovative culture that makes the application of MBM through the five dimensions and Guiding Principles as an underlying foundation for conducting business
Physical Requirements:
  • This role involves working in various climate conditions, including hot, cold, and inclement weather. Employees will need to climb stairs and ladders periodically and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure safety. To meet business demands, you may at times need to work extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays and must be able to respond to off-hours calls for emergency response.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • One (1) or more years of experience in an E & I planning role OR five (5) or more years working in an E & I Industrial Maintenance role
  • One (1) or more years of experience reading P&IDs, loop sheets & equipment drawings, and understanding pipe codes
  • Experience in generating Bill of Materials (BOM) and obtaining quotes
  • Experience with maintenance or turnaround planning, scheduling, and execution
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in maintenance or turnaround planning, scheduling, and execution
  • Experience developing cost estimates, presentations, pivot tables, and metrics
