BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY Perform and teach specialized diagnostic and research imaging and spectroscopic procedures utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam. CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Imaging Technologist with primary duties in General Diagnostic Radiography. Perform and teach specialized imaging procedures utilizing general radiography imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam. This includes independent operation with minimal physician supervision. Work schedule will be PRN as needed. The hourly rate is $19.91. Credential and background screening is required. Qualifications include: Education Requirements Successful completion of two-year or other approved program by Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology Education is required. Experience Requirements Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Certification Requirements Current certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. Current Permit to Practice issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health for all radiographers operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment is required. Desirable: Previous work or clinical education experience in general radiology in a level 1 Trauma center is desired. Recent work or clinical education experience in CT radiology is desired.
