Join NS2 Mission and help build, automate, and sustain the infrastructure that powers mission-critical capabilities. Mission is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA, supporting the development and operation of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-based environments.

In this role, you'll work closely with software engineers, platform teams, and mission stakeholders to streamline deployments, optimize system performance, and support modern DevSecOps practices. The ideal candidate brings experience with container orchestration, cloud infrastructure, automation, and large-scale data platforms within complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications and services.
  • Manage and optimize Kubernetes environments to support containerized workloads and platform operations.
  • Support cloud-native architectures and infrastructure within AWS, including services such as EC2, EBS, and S3.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines that improve deployment efficiency, reliability, and security.
  • Support infrastructure automation and configuration management using modern DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
  • Administer and optimize Elasticsearch environments, including performance tuning, monitoring, and integration activities.
  • Support distributed data platforms utilizing technologies such as Presto and Trino.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement improvements to enhance platform stability and availability.
  • Collaborate with development and engineering teams to support application deployment, release management, and operational readiness.
  • Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system configurations in support of ongoing sustainment activities.
  • Utilize tools such as Jira, Confluence, and related platforms to support project tracking, documentation, and team collaboration.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience supporting DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or Systems Engineering initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience managing and supporting Kubernetes environments.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, including administration, monitoring, and performance optimization.
  • Experience working with distributed query engines such as Presto or Trino.
  • Experience supporting cloud infrastructure within AWS, including EC2, EBS, and S3.
  • Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
  • Experience working within Linux/Unix environments.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies and modern DevOps methodologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Sponsor cloud accreditation processes and security requirements.
  • Experience with Apache NiFi or similar data ingestion and workflow automation platforms.
  • Experience with DataCTRL or comparable ETL and data management tools.
  • Understanding of data management, data flow architectures, and large-scale data processing environments.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools and automated configuration management.
  • Familiarity with cloud monitoring, logging, and observability tools including Kibana.
  • Experience supporting secure cloud environments within the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense.

Position Clearance Requirement:

TS/SCI with an FSP
