Job Summary:

Join a focused team of engineers bringing highly complex, dense, rugged and secure electronic packaging solutions to our nation's warfighters and first responders. The CAD Engineering team supports all of our current and future product developments. Mercury Systems uses cutting edge
technology from Intel, Freescale, Xilinx, Altera, Broadcom, and others. The individual is responsible as the CAD lead or assistant interacting with Systems Engineering, SI, ME, SW and purchasing. The CAD team owns all steps of the printed circuit board design process.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Design and model high frequency PCB's, backplanes, cables and flex circuits up to 25Gb/s for rugged applications.
  • Work seamlessly with multiple locations across the United States with a diverse engineering group.
  • Participate in all aspects of engineering review process which includes, PCB placement review and PCB routing review and PCB final review.
  • PCB Design and layout using the Cadence/Allegro tool.
  • Keep up to date on advancements in Allegro.
  • Incorporate feedback given on designs.
  • Drive change and process improvements.
  • Document and implement rules for CAD layout.
  • Support technology roadmaps and design of experiments (DOE) for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Provide technical support to the PWB fabrication vendors with respect to the integrity of the PWB design files.
  • Spearhead the ongoing effort to assist in the installation, upgrade and improvements to the software tools utilized for creating and reviewing PWB design files.



Required qualifications:



  • Typically requires 7+ years of Printed Circuit Board design using Cadence/Allegro tool.
  • Experience with the IPC industry standards for PCB design.
  • Experience with printed circuit board stackups and materials.
  • Experience with the following tools: Valor, Blueprint, CAM350, Pulse and/or team center.
  • Experience in design for manufacturing (DFM).
  • Experience routing high speed interfaces 25G+ bits per second.
  • Experience routing high frequency RF, up to 50GHz.
  • Experience with Allegro constraints manager for both physical and electrical rules.
  • Experience creating automation for Allegro and other CAD processes.
  • Experience being a CAD technical lead for process and efficiencies improvements.
  • Experience for technical management of third party CAD engineering.
  • Self-motivated - candidate should enjoy leading and taking ownership of assigned projects, exhibit good written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to work well in a diverse team environment.

  • This position requires you to haveor be able to obtaina government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted toU.S. citizens.




Preferred qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.



  • Experience with ECAD libraries and electronic data management.
