The David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) at UCLA is seeking a Senior Art Director to join the DGSOM Marketing team, reporting to the Associate Creative Director, Art. This newly created role will support both DGSOM and UCLA Health initiatives, developing compelling creative campaigns that showcase how the School of Medicine's research, breakthroughs, and innovations advance the exceptional care delivered across the UCLA Health system. Working closely with cross-functional teams and a dedicated Copywriter, the Senior Art Director will help define and elevate the UCLA Health brand voice, strengthen institutional reputation, enhance brand perception, and drive market awareness, preference, loyalty, recruitment, patient acquisition, and organizational growth. The ideal candidate is a seasoned marketing and advertising professional with recognized expertise in creative concepting, art direction, and design. Leveraging strategic insights, this individual will lead the creative vision and foundation for integrated campaigns across video, digital, experiential, social, and print media, demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship, strategic thinking, and conceptual excellence. The role requires extensive collaboration with senior leaders, executives, and teams across Strategic Marketing, Brand Strategy and Creative, Digital, Partnerships, Development, DGSOM, and the broader enterprise. Success in this position requires strong analytical, critical thinking, project management, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to address complex, undefined challenges independently. Experience photographing, filming, and editing social media content is preferred. Salary Range: $95,400.00 - 208,300.00 Annually
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent combination of
education and experience Minimum three (3) years of demonstrated experience as a creative professional, with a proven track record in developing brand creative.- Minimum three (3) years of hands-on creative experience working
across diverse media channels, including digital, social, TV, print, OOH, and experiential. - Must be willing to travel up to 30 miles, with availability
some weekends or after hours. - Familiarity with social media trends, editing, and video
styles, especially for YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. - Create eye-catching organic and paid content for social
media platforms that leads to engagement, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. - Must be proficient with Creative Suite, including but not
limited to: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and more. - Ability to work on multiple projects, remain positive and
calm under pressure and is solution oriented. - Strong knowledge and understanding of all aspects of
marketing, including strategic planning for various media venues, technical aspects and requirements of various venues, and most appropriate and effective applications - Possess pre-production planning, coordination, and
organization skills.
