Description

Leidos is seeking an experienced Sales Architect / Outbound Product Management Lead to serve as the strategic bridge between our solution portfolio and the market. This is a Senior Director enterprise-wide role responsible for partnering with capture, business development, and engineering teams to shape winning solutions while also owning outbound product strategy - positioning, messaging, and go-to-market execution - for a cross-sector portfolio of offerings.

This individual will operate at the intersection of technical solutioning and product marketing: translating complex mission and business requirements into differentiated, sellable solutions, and ensuring the sales force, partners, and customers clearly understand the value those solutions deliver. The role requires deep credibility with both engineering and sales stakeholders, executive presence with customers, and the judgment to prioritize investments across a diverse, cross-sector opportunity pipeline.

Given the sensitivity and scope of programs supported, candidates must hold or be able to obtain an active Secret clearance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical and strategic point of contact between Product Management, Engineering, and Sales/Capture teams for solution architecture and offering roadmaps across Leidos business sectors.
  • Lead outbound product activities, including positioning, messaging, and go-to-market planning for new and existing solution offerings.
  • Design end-to-end solution architectures that align customer mission requirements with Leidos capabilities, reusable IP, and partner technologies.
  • Act as technical subject-matter expert and executive-level spokesperson in customer engagements, industry days, and proposal orals.
  • Develop and deliver sales enablement materials - white papers, battlecards, demos, and technical proposal content - to arm the sales force and partner community.
  • Partner with capture managers to shape technical win themes, support proposal development, and author technical volumes for RFP/RFI responses.
  • Define and track outbound performance metrics (pipeline conversion, solution adoption, competitive win rate) and use data to refine positioning and roadmap priorities.
  • Conduct competitive and market analysis to identify differentiation opportunities and inform investment decisions across the solution portfolio.
  • Mentor and provide technical/strategic guidance to solution architects, product managers, and business development staff across sectors.
  • Represent Leidos externally at industry forums, customer conferences, and partner events as a thought leader on the solution portfolio.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and 12+ years of relevant experience in solution architecture, sales engineering, product management, or business development; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • Demonstrated experience bridging technical solutioning with go-to-market/product marketing functions.
  • Proven track record supporting large government or commercial capture efforts, including proposal development and executive-level customer presentations.
  • Strong understanding of solution architecture principles, technology roadmaps, and competitive positioning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing sales enablement and proposal content.
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to support customer engagements, proposal efforts, and industry events.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree (MBA or technical) preferred.
  • Experience across multiple Leidos-relevant markets (defense, intelligence, civil, or health).
  • Prior experience in a formal Product Management or Solution Architect role with P&L or roadmap ownership.
  • Familiarity with capture and proposal frameworks (e.g., Shipley) and CRM/pipeline tools.
  • Existing relationships with government or commercial customers relevant to Leidos' target markets.
