Overview:

We are seeking anApplied Intelligence Specialistwho will focus onanalyzing and operationalizing critical information and data through sponsor funded research and development. This position will work hand in hand with R&D teams, while contributing to a multifaceted sensitive information and data analysis team. Key focus areas include supply chain, high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, and critical infrastructure. This positionresidesin theSecure AI ResearchGroup in theAdvanced Intelligent Systems Section, Cyber Resilience and Intelligence Division (CRID), National Security Sciences Directorate,atOak Ridge National Laboratory(ORNL).

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in intelligence analysis, a working knowledge of classified systems and how to use them, and a familiarization with specific sensitive government partners. This person will play a key role within CRID's growing portfolio of sensitive work, informing active research and advising on research priorities and vision.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work with researchers and all source analysts on sensitive information and data to guide existing R&D projects, ensuring the applied R&D is the most relevant and accurate to national security stakeholders.
  • Aid portfolio managers in supporting sensitive visits, briefing sensitive topics, briefing R&D staff, and engaging with national security stakeholders.
  • Searching, reading, comprehending and translating technical and nontechnical data to both technical and nontechnical teams.
  • Give presentations and influencing research through the analysis of the data.
  • Write reports to summarize the data and findings.
  • Aid in the selection and priority of data analysis for future R&D.

Basic Qualifications:

  • AB.S.degree inNational Security Studies or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of5years of experience in all source intelligence analysisor related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8 years of all source intelligence analysis or related fields.
  • Experience with supply chain analysis.
  • Experience with the intelligence production cycle.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and toparticipatecreatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities toaccomplishmultiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Special Requirements:

  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain andmaintaina Secret Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance from the Department of Energy. As such, this position is a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require passing a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program. In addition, due the SCI, you may also be subject to random polygraph testing.
