McKesson is an impact-driven, Fortune 10 company that touches virtually every aspect of healthcare. We are known for delivering insights, products, and services that make quality care more accessible and affordable. Here, we focus on the health, happiness, and well-being of you and those we serve - we care. What you do at McKesson matters. We foster a culture where you can grow, make an impact, and are empowered to bring new ideas. Together, we thrive as we shape the future of health for patients, our communities, and our people. If you want to be part of tomorrow's health today, we want to hear from you. Role Overview We are looking for a talented and creative problem solver to join McKesson as a Senior Product Manager. In this role, you will own the product strategy for new capabilities that enhance the customer experience, take advantage of emerging technology, and improve operating efficiency for McKesson and the providers we serve. Reporting to the business and program owner, this is a senior individual contributor role for a strategic, hands-on product leader who has designed, built, and deployed new products - and scaled them. You will own product strategy, roadmap, and prioritization for capabilities within a broader program, working across Engineering, Design, Data, Finance, Operations, Technology, Legal, and Compliance to move from concept through launch and adoption. This role does not carry direct reports. Success depends on influence, structured thinking, and clear communication with partners who do not report to you. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, is comfortable building where no precedent exists, and is passionate about delivering measurable value for customers and the business. What You'll Do
Product Vision and Strategy
Own the product strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for new capabilities, contributing to the broader program and multi-year business vision. Establish objectives, key results, and success metrics in partnership with the business and program owner, aligned to program objectives and customer needs. Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve customer experience, accuracy, cycle time, and cost to serve. Translate complex customer, business, and operational needs into clear product priorities and scalable solutions. Use data and experimentation to evaluate performance, generate insights, and inform product decisions.
Customer Experience
Maintain a deep understanding of McKesson's provider customers and the teams who serve them through user research, data analysis, workflow observation, experimentation, and feedback loops. Design intuitive, frictionless experiences that make sophisticated capability simple to use. Own the design of supporting process flows, improving both self-service and assisted experiences.
Product Definition and Delivery
Define and drive the development of new products, platforms, and the process flows that support them. Work closely with and influence cross-functional partners across Engineering, Design, Data, Finance, Operations, Legal, and Compliance, alongside external delivery partners. Move products from discovery and validation through launch, adoption, measurement, and scale. Structure delivery in phases that prove value early and expand scope, complexity, and coverage as the product matures. Design to customer experience, accuracy, operational efficiency, control requirements, and long-term scalability together - building solutions that satisfy all of them rather than trading one against another. Anticipate obstacles, surface risks and dependencies early, and help partner teams resolve blockers to maintain momentum.
Technology, Automation, and Data
Identify where emerging technology, AI, and automation create meaningful leverage, and bring those capabilities into the product responsibly. Expand automation over time, turning proven patterns into reusable product capability. Partner with Data and Engineering to define the data model, integrations, and data-quality standards the product depends on. Establish standards for accuracy, auditability, and explainability in automated and model-assisted output, including the human review points around them.
Stakeholder Influence, Governance, and Controls
Build strong collaboration and alignment across a broad group of cross-functional stakeholders and business partners. Bring clear recommendations, options, and trade-offs to the business owner and governance forums, and prepare the product narrative that supports those decisions. Communicate priorities, risks, dependencies, and progress to executive leadership and partner teams. Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Technology governance teams so solutions meet regulatory requirements, internal policies, security and privacy standards, and industry best practices. Support the launch and ongoing management of products that carry material financial and operational impact.
Who You Are / What You Bring
Minimum Requirement
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience. Critical Skills
7+ years of core product management experience in high-growth or transformation environments. Proven track record of designing, launching, and scaling new products - not only optimizing established ones - with measurable business and customer outcomes, and personal accountability for those outcomes. Experience as a product manager embedded in a business or operations function, acting as the voice of the business to Engineering and technology partners. Experience delivering data-intensive or workflow-heavy platforms where accuracy and auditability matter. Skilled at identifying risks, managing dependencies, and maintaining momentum across teams you do not control. Experience in healthcare, financial services, or another highly regulated industry is strongly preferred. Prior experience with enterprise platforms, pricing or contract administration, reconciliation, exception management, or audit and controls tooling is a plus.
Customer Focus
Passionate about improving the experience and tools that serve providers and the teams supporting them. Experienced in creating simple, accessible experiences on top of sophisticated underlying capability. Able to design for customer needs, business objectives, and control requirements simultaneously.
Analytical Problem Solving
Demonstrated ability to structure and solve complex, ambiguous problems where requirements are not yet defined. Strong experience using data to make decisions, define metrics, develop hypotheses, and measure results. Experience with experimentation, workflow analysis, product analytics, and performance optimization. Scrappy and solution-oriented, moving fluidly between strategic thinking and detailed execution.
Technology Fluency
Working knowledge of modern data platforms, integration patterns, and the practical application of AI and automation in enterprise products. Able to partner credibly with Engineering and Data teams on architecture, feasibility, and sequencing. Sound judgment on where automation adds leverage and where human review belongs.
Collaboration, Influence, and Communication
Proven ability to build consensus and drive results across cross-functional partners without direct authority. Comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and navigating competing priorities and constraints. Experience working alongside external delivery partners or systems integrators, and in a business-led program structure. Clear, concise, and persuasive communicator with strong documentation, storytelling, and executive presentation skills. Able to translate complex product, technical, and business concepts for different audiences.
