DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on helping families manage daily challenges and connect with important community services. You will support parents and children through home visits, transportation assistance, and hands-on guidance. As a County Social Services Aide 1 (Local Government), you will perform the following duties:
- Budget Guidance: Assist families in setting up and following a budget
- Home Instruction: Provide in-home parenting education and help with nutrition and household care
- Client Transportation: Drive clients to appointments and hearings when needed
- Visit Supervision: Supervise parent and child interactions in foster care settings
- Emergency Support: Offer emergency childcare, food, and supplies as needed
- Case Assistance: Help gather information, maintain files, and provide written reports to caseworkers
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Possible Travel Requiring Overnight Stays. Possible After-Hours Appointments for Supervised Visitation And Transportation
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
