THE POSITION

As the Director, Bureau of Investigations and Intelligence, DOC, you will oversee complex investigative work, coordinate intelligence efforts, and strengthen statewide security initiatives. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position directs investigative and intelligence functions for DOC, ensuring that all units operate securely, efficiently, and in alignment with established procedures. The role centers on supervising staff, coordinating investigations, maintaining interagency partnerships, and supporting statewide security efforts. As a Director, Bureau of Investigations and Intelligence, DOC, you will perform the following duties:

  • Investigative Oversight: Supervise investigations, review confidential reports, and ensure procedures are followed
  • Staff Leadership: Plan work, assign tasks, evaluate performance, and address concerns for multiple investigative units
  • Intelligence Management: Guide intelligence activities, maintain external partnerships, and ensure information is properly analyzed and shared
  • Agency Coordination: Build communication with federal, state, and local partners and support actions on sensitive matters
  • Case Review: Participate in investigations involving inmates, employees, and visitors and prepare summaries for executive leadership
  • Information Security: Protect confidential documents, communication, and intelligence materials

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four years of supervisory or managerial experience over professional staff responsible for conducting criminal or administrative investigations, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes four years of supervisory or managerial experience over professional staff responsible for conducting criminal or administrative investigations.

Additional Requirements:
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
