DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports bridge inspection operations by supervising staff, reviewing structural conditions, and ensuring compliance with national standards. It involves planning field activities, preparing reports, and coordinating communication with project partners. As a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Inspection Supervision: Lead bridge inspection staff and oversee evaluations of structural components and conditions
- Record Management: Maintain inspection forms, photographs, sketches, and system data for all assigned structures
- Field Coordination: Arrange access, equipment, permits, and communication with maintenance units and railroads
- Report Preparation: Compile inspection data, document deficiencies, and prepare organized, accurate reports
- Equipment Oversight: Maintain inspection vans, cameras, and tools to ensure proper function and readiness
- Staff Development: Guide training, assign tasks, evaluate performance, and support employee growth

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of 53,008 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position is required to meet the qualifications for a bridge inspection team leader as defined by the current National Bridge Inspection Standards.
- This position requires possession of a valid non- commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
