V. POSITION SUMMARY The Foster Care Case Aid is a part time position providing direct care and supervision of our youth in the Child Welfare Division. Work shifts may vary to best meet the needs of the Foster Care Program. Work shifts will include evenings and weekends. The Foster Care Case Aid is responsible for the promotion of youth safety and companionship for children in the foster care system due to abuse or neglect. The three main tasks for this role include: Supervision, observation, and reporting of youth and family activities and behaviors, Appropriate response intervention to assure youth safety and Transportation. VI. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervision, observation and reporting of youth and family activities and appropriate response interventions to assure youth safety occur both in the community and in the office.
- Additional tasks may include maintaining organization and cleanliness, completing clerical work, and assisting other employees and/or other agency tasks.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding their work with clients of the Agency.
- Engage in training as required by D.A. Blodgett-St. John's training plan. This can include additional training addressing areas of discipline, trauma informed parenting, etc.
- Auto Safety Expectations
- Transporting children in appropriate car seats (age/height/weight)
- Provided with child passenger safety information by a certified technician upon hire.
- Child passenger safety refresher training will be provided as needed/annually.
- Car seats are provided by the agency.
- Follow all safety regulations enforced by law regarding any passenger in your car.
- Follow all driving laws. Infractions could be cause for termination.
- Never allow anyone else to drive your vehicle while transporting children, nor transport non-agency related persons while transporting children.
Supervision Received: Specific Direction - Follows established work procedures. Receives periodic checks for performance. Refers unique questions/conditions to immediate supervisor. Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities VII. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Completed College Courses in a field related to the helping profession is preferred.
- Direct experience working with youth who have experienced Trauma preferred.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Flexibility with schedule-Must be available to work nontraditional hours (nights and weekends) on short notice.
- Demonstrate appropriate communication skills.
- Practice confidentiality and safety procedures as defined by the agency.
- You must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and a safe, dependable vehicle available, with appropriate insurance.

- Good practical understanding of child development, with the ability to easily relate to children and parents, in a warm and understanding manner.
- High moral character and no criminal record.
- Possess an understanding and sensitivity to the client's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

IX. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 5+ hours Per Day
