What you'll be doing...

The Consultant, Security Operations is a critical member of the Criminal Response Team within the Verizon Security Assistance Team (VSAT), dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of Verizon's employees, proprietary information, assets, and facilities. This role will evaluate highly sensitive legal demands involving the accounts of key public figures, including Members of Congress, as well as public sector entities, managing high-visibility cases, and liaise with our operational and legal teams to ensure all statutory and contractual notification protocols are executed with precision. Operating within a high-stakes, 24x7x365 environment, you will also manage a dynamic workload of live calls and complex cases to respond accurately to criminal subpoenas, court orders, and search warrants for customer records. A vital part of this fast-paced role involves providing urgent, onsite support during life-and-death situations. You will serve as a frontline responder, rapidly assessing emergencies, engaging directly with callers, and determining the most effective tools or alternative methods to locate devices. Working both independently and collaboratively, your meticulous multitasking will ensure we exceed our 2026 operational business metrics while strictly safeguarding sensitive data and delivering a 5-star stakeholder experience.

Finally, as a mandatory requirement of the position, you must successfully obtain and maintain a National Security Clearance, demonstrating a strict willingness to adhere to all ongoing compliance protocols to keep your cleared status active.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage complex, high-stakes case files for high-profile figures, Senate and Congressional members lines, and private sector contracts, ensuring strict adherence to contractual obligations, notification protocols, timelines, and confidentiality requirements.

  • Continually monitor, analyze, and interpret real-time legislative developments, political news, current events and public policy trends to assess potential risk factors and strategic impacts on ongoing cases.

  • Draft comprehensive, clear, and actionable case summaries and formal analysis to support legal review and executive decision-making.

  • Act as a central point of contact between internal departments and legal teams to coordinate sensitive information flows and streamline review processes.

  • Rapidly identify legal, regulatory, or reputational risks stemming from political shifts or high-visibility casework, ensuring immediate notification and risk mitigation planning for senior leadership.

  • Serve as the critical 24x7x365 liaison for law enforcement during life-and-death emergencies, utilizing sound judgment to independently authenticate callers and rapidly provide crucial customer data (e.g., location tracking) without direct supervision.

  • Demonstrate exceptional poise and strong multitasking capabilities in crisis scenarios, consistently making sound, split-second decisions when delays are not an option.

  • Leverage deep technical skills to seamlessly track, process, and respond to legal demands and emergency situations by navigating upwards of 50 different internal network applications and database systems.

  • Apply strong analytical skills to validate, log, and manage incoming subpoenas. court orders and search warrants end-to-end, ensuring meticulous documentation and strict adherence to applicable laws and company procedures.

  • Exercise refined judgment to evaluate complex legal and emergency matters, determining precisely when a situation requires management escalation to ensure the safest possible outcome.

  • Collaborate closely with Network, Security, and Legal departments, acting as a subject matter expert to provide guidance on the authorized and secure release of highly sensitive company records.

  • Quickly adapt to rapid changes in telecommunications technology by conducting pre-release acceptance testing for new system enhancements, critically evaluating their reliability for live emergency operations.

  • Evaluate call and case-handling processes from a hands-on perspective, providing leadership with actionable, analytical feedback to close operational gaps and drive continuous quality improvement.

  • Autonomously manage a heavy workload of high-urgency tasks while occasionally facilitating educational presentations for law enforcement agencies to demonstrate the company's commitment to public safety.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or one or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Three or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.

  • Demonstrated background in political affairs, government relations, or public policy, paired with a deep, active awareness of current events and legislative processes.

  • Superior analytical skills with a proven track record of synthesizing large volumes of complex data, regulatory documents, and media reports into concise analysis for legal counsel.

  • Willingness to work a flexible shift to meet time sensitive demands and other requirements.

  • Security Clearance: The ability to successfully obtain and maintain a National Security Clearance. Note: This is a mandatory requirement for the position and requires a willingness to adhere to all ongoing compliance and clearance protocols.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A Bachelor's degree, specifically in Political Science or related studies, or four or more equivalent years of professional work experience.

  • Demonstrated background in political affairs, government relations, or public policy, paired with a deep, active awareness of current events and legislative processes.

  • Strong written communication skills required to author legally sound summaries, regulatory compliance alerts, and formal notifications under tight deadlines.

  • A proven track record of exercising sound judgment and making critical, results-driven decisions without requiring direct supervision.

  • The ability to prioritize competing demands, multitask seamlessly in a fast-paced environment, and drive results-all without sacrificing meticulous attention to detail.

  • Highly effective written and verbal communication abilities, paired with the interpersonal tact needed to collaborate smoothly across teams and handle sensitive matters.

  • Prior paralegal experience or a strong foundational knowledge of legal procedures and documentation.

  • Proficiency in Verizon Wireless billing and network systems, coupled with a solid understanding of network architecture and call processing.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $86,000.00 - $150,000.00.
