POSITION SUMMARY: The Crusher Operator performs and monitors all crushing plant operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of primary and secondary crushers, screens, conveyors, and related processing equipment. Responsible for maintaining material flow, maximizing production efficiency, ensuring product quality specifications are met, and supporting the processing of stone for stockpiling and kiln feed. RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
- Maintain compliance with all company, MSHA, federal, state, and local safety regulations, policies, procedures and environmental requirements at all times.
- Conduct routine inspections of crushers, conveyors, feeders, screens, and related plant equipment at the start of each shift and continuously throughout the day to identify operational, maintenance, or safety concerns.
- Monitor crushing plant performance and take appropriate action to maintain safe, efficient, and continuous production.
- Remove material obstructions and clear crusher blockages using approved tools and equipment, including remote-controlled hydraulic hammers, and notify supervision when blasting or additional corrective measures are required.
- Operate and utilize computerized plant control systems to monitor equipment performance, adjust operating parameters, and accurately record production data.
- Direct haul truck traffic and communicate dumping locations to ensure efficient material flow and safe plant operations.
- Maintain tail pulleys, conveyors, and material handling systems by removing mud, buildup, and other obstructions to prevent downtime and equipment damage.
- Continuously monitor conveyor loading conditions and product flow to prevent overloads, detect abnormal operating conditions, and remove foreign materials when safely possible.
- Assist with routine servicing, lubrication, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities on crushers and related plant equipment.
- Provide direction and work coordination to Crusher Helpers, Laborers, and other support personnel to ensure operational priorities, housekeeping, and maintenance needs are addressed.
- Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the crushing plant, including conveyors, transfer points, work areas, and the crusher control room.
- Perform minor repairs and troubleshooting activities within the scope of training and responsibility.
- Complete all assigned work accurately, efficiently, and in a professional manner while meeting established production and quality expectations.
- Promptly report equipment deficiencies, operational issues, safety hazards, environmental concerns, or any condition requiring management attention.
- Support plant reliability, production goals, and continuous improvement initiatives through proactive communication and teamwork.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance and punctuality; may be required to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or be on call to support operational needs.
- Perform physically demanding work for extended periods, including standing, bending, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, and reaching.
- Access all areas of the quarry, including climbing stairs and ladders, working at heights, entering confined spaces and accessing tunnels.
- Perform work inside crusher tower and outdoors in a quarry environment with exposure to extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation and high noise levels, dust, fumes, oils and lime/mineral particles.
- Ability to see, hear, communicate, and maintain situational awareness in an industrial environment around moving equipment, conveyors, and mobile equipment, including responding appropriately to alarms, signals, and changing conditions.
- Occasionally lift/carry 50 pounds.
- Pulling a maximum force of 60 lbf.

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
- Technical training or Associate's degree in a related field.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 1-2 years of experience in mining, quarrying, or heavy manufacturing.
- Experience operating heavy equipment.
- Basic ability to use digital systems for work orders, training, timekeeping, or operational reporting.
