What You Will Do

  • Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret isometric drawings, piping layouts, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Install, assemble, maintain, and repair piping systems in an industrial facility.
  • Perform steam tracing and small-bore tubing installation, including measuring, cutting, bending, routing, supporting, and securing tubing in accordance with project specifications.
  • Install and maintain steam supply and condensate return tracing systems used to provide freeze protection and maintain process temperatures.
  • Work with tubing, fittings, valves, supports, and related components associated with steam tracing systems.
  • Identify proper routing and installation methods to avoid interference with existing piping, equipment, insulation, and other trades.
  • Perform field measurements and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper fit-up and installation.
  • Inspect completed work for proper alignment, supports, connections, and overall quality.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and project-specific requirements while working around operating equipment and piping systems.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and work scheduled overtime as project needs require.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Previous industrial pipefitting experience.
  • Hands-on experience with steam tracing and/or small-bore tubing installation in an industrial or refinery environment.
  • Experience measuring, cutting, bending, routing, and installing tubing and associated fittings.
  • Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings, piping layouts, and project specifications.
  • Knowledge of pipefitting tools, tubing tools, materials, fittings, valves, and proper installation practices.
  • Ability to accurately measure, calculate offsets, and perform field fit-up.
  • Strong understanding of industrial construction safety practices.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a field construction team.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Previous experience performing steam tracing in a refinery, chemical plant, or other process-industry environment.
  • Experience installing steam supply, condensate return, and heat-tracing tubing systems.
  • Experience with small-bore stainless steel or carbon steel tubing, tube bending, compression fittings, and tubing support systems.
  • Previous experience working in an operating facility or turnaround environment.
  • Familiarity with project-specific quality requirements related to tubing and steam tracing installations
