Health Room Assistant 

Qualifications:

• A Nursing Degree (LPN minimum) from an accredited college or university.
• All valid licenses in nursing issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Successful experience working with children and adolescents in a school environment.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Evaluated by/Reports To:

Building Principal (s) or Assistant Superintendent, reports to Nursing supervisor

Job Goal:

To address, dispense, and provide prevention services for the health of Tamaqua Area students and those students required by state law within the Tamaqua Area School District.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Assist with communicable disease control
• Assist with school-wide health screenings
• Follow-up with health care referrals and assist families with possible services
• Provide health related services to state law within
• inside of Tamaqua Area SD
• Administer basic nursing services, first aid, student meds, etc.
• Adhere to all HIPPA requirements and highest levels of professional confidentiality

Terms of Employment:

Will adhere to teacher contract timeline in an hourly rate position

Evaluation:

Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on evaluation of professional personnel, by Building Principals and Assistant Superintendent.
