UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.

Job Description:

Provides administration and operational oversight of vendors supporting outsourced activities, projects, and programs in collaboration with key stakeholders. Evaluates vendor capabilities and performance, establishes monitoring and tracking processes, and assesses service delivery using vendor management strategies such as service-level agreements, operational audits, and surveys to support continuous improvement. Monitors participant satisfaction with vendor services, serves as a liaison between vendors and stakeholders, and addresses escalated issues and program appeals.

Responsibilities:

  • Applies professional vendor management concepts to support the administration and operational efficiency of vendors supporting outsourced projects and programs.
  • Under general supervision, assists in establishing and maintaining systems and procedures to ensure and enhance overall quality of vendor services and programs.
  • Ensures accurate payment of vendor fees and proper management of financial resources; researches and reviews vendor payments, adjustments, and related discrepancies as needed.
  • Assists in monitoring vendor performance against master service-level and quality agreements, identifying performance concerns and tracking follow-up actions.
  • Researches, analyzes, and resolves data, operational, and compliance issues related to vendor services and programs.
  • Works with the manager or lead to research and resolve complex vendor, operational, data, and compliance issues.
  • Participates in the operational implementation of new vendors and program changes that impact vendor services, including coordination of processes, systems, and related activities.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience or training.
  • Working knowledge of applicable policies, practices, and procedures relevant to the organization and client groups.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and research essential information from multiple sources.
  • Proficient interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, colleagues, and client groups.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation, including the ability to respond proactively and positively to customer needs and resolve service-related issues.
  • Working knowledge of office and web-based applications.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting vendor management, outsourced programs, or service-provider relationships.
  • Experience monitoring vendor performance, service-level agreements, or quality standards.
  • Experience researching and resolving payment, data, compliance, or operational discrepancies.
  • Experience supporting the implementation of new vendors, programs, or operational processes.
