Overview

The RN Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Nurse Manager/Director in the administrative duties of the (5) clinical units and providing leadership through collaboration with the health care team and maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. This position will participate in organizational and unit based quality improvement activities, and provide input on standards of care to maintain quality patient outcomes. Will also maintain the clinical competencies needed to provide direct patient care when the need arises.
Qualifications

Certifications: National Nursing Certification within 3 years - Varies; Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA), Education: Bachelor's Degree: Nursing (Required), Work Experience: Nursing
Responsibilities

Coordinates daily nursing and staffing activities of department.
Ensures staff members are adequately trained and are competent to perform all required job tasks.
Recommend various personnel actions including but not limited to hiring, performance appraisals, and promotions; make work assignments and review and edit work of subordinates.
Resolves work related issues, or assists employees in solving work related issues, confers with manager to resolve more complex situations.
Supports the manager in collecting information for accreditation surveys and departmental audits. Actively assists the manager with implementation of the recommended changes.
Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in area of practice. Ensures adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.
Develops, implements and participates in Quality Improvement initiatives and performs quality audits as directed/needed.
Participates and leads in Process Improvement initiatives.
Assists in development and review of department policies, procedures, standing orders, and competencies.
Ensures day to day department operations remain efficient and effective Daily huddles with employees to communicate plan for the day and department updates Monitors in basket work and nursing/CMA/MA productivity Ensures Carle behavior standards are followed Oversee staff orientation, yearly competencies, and ongoing work quality. Assist with appropriate policy additions, edits, and reviews. Coordinates and monitors performance improvement projects Ensures clinical practice excellence Responsible for patient safety Responsible for department education for nursing/CMA/Ma Ensures DNV standards are upheld in the department Helps lead employee engagement, rounding, and NRC initiatives

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $41per hour - $70.52per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
