The Department of Political Science resides within the College of Arts and Sciences. The Department of Political Science is the fourth largest undergraduate major in the College with more than 700 majors, a graduate program of approximately 60 students in residence and 43 tenure/tenure-track and fixed-term faculty. This tenure-track, open-rank, (Assistant/Associate Professor) position includes 40% teaching, 40% research and 20% service to the department/college. The service portion includes, but is not limited to search committees, review committees and administrative roles within the department and/or College. The current department teaching load of 2-1 courses per year. The position will also perform innovative research in the field of Asian Politics and show promise of research excellence and a desire to train and work with a diverse body of students.

PhD or ABD in political science or related social science and/or computational social science fields or other related field. (Completed degree by July 1, 2027).

Specialization in Asian politics, preferably with a focus on political economy (broadly understood) who shows promise of research and teaching excellence. We welcome scholars trained in comparative politics, international relations and related subfields whose work is situated at the intersection of politics and economics in Asia.
