JOB SUMMARY:

Lead Electronic Security Technician who will serve as the senior technical authority and primary conduit betweenProject Management, IT/Network Engineering, and field technicians for all electronic security installations,service, and integrations supporting the Johns Hopkins enterprise and public safety operationsOperating at a highly technical competency, the Sr. Technician delivers advanced expertise in enterprise accesscontrol, video management systems (VMS), intrusion detection, intercom/panic alarm systems, WeaponsDetection, Visitor Management, Elopement, Infant Protection, low voltage infrastructure, and network integratedsecurity platforms. The role leads system programming and database configuration, oversees firmware/patch lifecycle management, validates compliance with retention and performance standards, and provides technicalleadership and mentorship to field staff.This position independently plans, coordinates, and commissions complex installations; conducts advanceddiagnostics and root cause analysis; and ensures that all systems-including Access Control, VMS/NVRs,networked endpoints, and Emergency Communication Systems-are designed, implemented, and sustained toenterprise specifications, security standards, and project timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent (Required)
• Drivers License 10000193 Upon Hire (Required)
• Low voltage/security installer license (if required by state regulations). Upon Hire (Required)
• Ability to pass background checks as required by clients and policy. Upon Hire (Required)
• 1 Minimum 5 Years of Experience (Five plus (5+) years of progressively responsible experience in electronicsecurity systems, including access control, CCTV/VMS, intrusion, and lowvoltage/structured cabling;including at least three (3) years with enterprisescale system programming/integration. Prior team lead/crew lead experience is strongly preferred)
• Willingness to work off hours/on call or during planned maintenance windows as needed.

• Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.

• Advanced knowledge; performs a variety of standard and non-standard tasks in Information Technology.
• Participates in and contributes to departmental cost-saving initiatives related to their area.
• Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

  • BICSI Installer Certification (structured cabling)
  • OSHA 10/30 (workplace safety training)
• Access Control Platforms: Experience with C*CURE, Honeywell, Lenel, Genetec, HID, S2, Avigilon(enterprise/multi site).
• Electronic Security: Strong knowledge of CCTV/VMS, intrusion detection, alarm systems, intercom,and panic systems.
• Low Voltage & Cabling: Power supplies, relays, REX devices; installation/testing of CAT5/CAT6/CAT6A; RS 485/RS 232.
• Networking: Proficiency with TCP/IP, DHCP, VLANs, PoE, and collaboration with IT onintegration/hardening; experience with packet capture and switch diagnostics preferred.
• Door Hardware & Locks: Installation/troubleshooting of maglocks, electric strikes, push bars, door closers, REX.
• Software & System Configuration: Event programming, credential management, firmware/patch management, and database maintenance.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead crews, mentor technicians, interface with Project Management, and manage commissioning/closeout. within 180 Days (Required)

Salary Range: Minimum $33.91/hour - Maximum $59.36/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
