This is a remote, nationwide position requiring approximately 80% travel. Candidates may reside anywhere in the United States.
Candidates must qualify as a Senior UXO Supervisor under the current version of DDESB TP-18 and any applicable contract-specific requirements.
KEMRON Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Unexploded Ordnance Supervisor (SUXOS) to lead field personnel and oversee the safe, compliant, and effective execution of munitions and explosives of concern (MEC) operations, including munitions-response and range-clearance activities.
The SUXOS serves as the senior on-site technical authority and coordinates field operations, explosives safety, quality control, project documentation, and client coordination. Work must be performed in accordance with approved project plans, contract requirements, KEMRON procedures, and applicable Department of Defense, federal, state, and local requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
- * Direct and coordinate daily MEC field operations, including site preparation, surveys, intrusive activities, anomaly investigation, range clearance, and disposal support.
- * Lead UXO teams and assign personnel, equipment, and resources based on project requirements and field conditions.
- * Provide technical direction regarding the identification, handling, movement, storage, transportation, and disposition of MEC and related materials.
- * Ensure field activities comply with approved work plans, safety requirements, quality-control procedures, and explosives-safety criteria; review planned operations for hazards and ensure appropriate controls are established before work begins.
- * Coordinate with safety and quality personnel when evaluating whether MEC can be safely moved, consolidated, or otherwise managed.
- * Oversee demolition and demilitarization activities and ensure exclusion zones, personnel limits, protective measures, emergency procedures, firing systems, accountability, and post-operation inspections are appropriate for planned work.
- * Support the preparation and implementation of work plans, site safety and health plans, quality-control plans, standard operating procedures, and explosives-management documentation.
- * Conduct or oversee operational briefings, safety meetings, inspections, and readiness reviews; review field records, quality-control results, disposal documentation, daily reports, and UXO team submissions for completeness and accuracy.
- * Identify unsafe conditions, procedural deviations, and quality deficiencies; stop work when necessary and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- * Coordinate field activities with project managers, client representatives, government personnel, subcontractors, property owners, and other stakeholders.
- * Provide technical training, coaching, and performance oversight for UXO technicians and supporting personnel and maintain accountability for explosives, equipment, vehicles, and other assigned project resources.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- * Current eligibility to serve as a Senior UXO Supervisor under DDESB TP-18 and any additional contract-specific qualification requirements.
- * Documented military EOD or civilian UXO training acceptable under the applicable TP-18 qualification pathway.
- * Documented MEC and explosives-related experience sufficient to meet the current SUXOS standard.
- * Documented experience supervising UXO personnel and complex field operations.
- * Demonstrated knowledge of MEC recognition, explosives safety, demolition operations, range-clearance procedures, and munitions-response activities.
