Projects Planning Engineer

As Project Planner, you will work directly with Production Planning, Manufacturing Facilities, and Sales to manage and support the fabrication scope of key projects from inception through completion. ISCO's level of quality, service, communication, and innovation, has built a reputation that results in new and repeat business with clients in a wide range of industries: EPC, Industrial, Municipal, Mining, Landfill, etc. The Project Planner plays a key role in maintaining this reputation, while managing multiple projects that can vary in length and complexity. You engage in anywhere between four to sixteen jobs at a time. Jobs can last from three months to two years. This is an operations role that manages from Witherspoon with zero direct reports and involves occasional travel throughout the year to various ISCO sites for training, exposure, and team building.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide a safe and healthy working condition which is maintained by:

o Fostering a culture focused on awareness

o Safe working methods

Create and manage a daily Work Order Schedule utilizing the MAR (Machine Availability Report), to promote efficiency and minimize down time:

o Track and review fabrication of work orders
o Be results-oriented and provide support to operations with any efficiency or quality concerns
o Motivate team members effectively

Continuous Improvement & Goal Setting:
o Develop and track goals for continuous improvement in fabrication processes
o Set and achieve utilization efficiency, quality, and safety targets in line with company objective

*ERP entry relating to work order release, inventory allocation, and bill of material manifestation
*Keep a steady pulse on project priority shifts, due dates, material availability, and risks
*Communication with ISCO shop managers and location planners to plan and discuss project throughput and deadlines
Weekly production meetings with sales teams and operations management
*Weekly executive brief to VP of Operations on all live projects
*Productive dialogue with Engineering and CAD department
*Frequent interpretation and approval of customer isometric drawings
*Inventory count, reconciliation, and disposition throughout project lifecycles
*Maintain a list of open NCRs (nonconformance review) on EPC jobs
*Creating of work order Bill of Materials on custom, client work

*Present quarterly comparison on Fab-shop efficiency, throughput, and capacity
*Collaborate toward 'yes' by identifying barriers and solutions
*Manage timeline & communication of products that are accurate and on-time
*Part number creation, correction, and management over customer jobs
*Conduct a debrief after each project and create/maintain a lesson learned log
*Establish structure and methodology into processes which need revamping

Minimum Qualifications and Skills for Consideration:

- Education: Qualified candidates will possess four-year bachelor's degree; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge and business use of Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Power Point, Word, and Excel
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general fabrication documents, CAD Drawings, technical procedures, and quality documentation
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence to effectively present information to internal and external stakeholders
- Problem Solving: Ability to solve practical problems with identifying root cause and implementing countermeasures to correct
- Effective ability to manage data, creating a strong, easily understandable story
