Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for providing an interface between customers and in-house personnel. This involves scheduling, coordinating, monitoring the expedient flow of parts through the manufacturing processes, and shipping to satisfy the customers' delivery requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicates with customers concerning requirements, talks with them regarding other customer service-related concerns, and answers any other questions. Approximately 35% of available time is spent preparing and maintaining customer contacts.
  • Acts as liaison between customers and manufacturing and support teams. Communicates customers' requirements and concerns. Acts as the customer intermediary to ensure that specifications are met and delivery is timely. Engages in these activities about 25% of the time.
  • Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Use system & customer files to:
  • Ensure tooling availability
  • Coordinate with toolroom for reworks and coatings
  • Tooling Manager for tooling builds
  • Department input schedules
  • Meet weekly input quantities
  • Meet weekly LOH targets
  • Meet weekly revenue targets
  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
  • Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
  • Stay current with planning yields vs standard yields
  • Monitors throughput and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Prepares production reports.
  • Provides schedule/forecast information to purchasing and Engineering to ensure required materials, tools and equipment are in place.
  • Updates information on computer for perpetual inventory system.
  • Has custodial support responsibility for the physical inventory
  • Provides both short and long term capacity analysis
  • Responsible for both near and long term forecasting

Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: This position requires the minimum of an Associates Degree in production planning, marketing, or business discipline, or equivalent work-related experience

EXPERIENCE: This position requires a minimum of one to three months related experience and/or training.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
