The Office of Threat Assessment and Management supports the university through the early identification, assessment and management of threats and concerning behaviors that may pose a risk of targeted violence to the USC community. Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Threat Assessment & Management, the Director, Threat Assessment & Management provides leadership and subject matter expertise in behavioral threat assessment and management for USC's Health Sciences Campus and affiliated healthcare and clinical environments. The Director works collaboratively with university and healthcare partners to support violence prevention, community safety and effective threat management practices. This role involves sensitive and, at times, urgent matters affecting the safety and well-being of the USC community and requires discretion, sound judgment, professionalism and emotional composure. This position will be fully onsite on the USC Health Science Campus 5 days a week with visits to hospitals and ambulatory clinics, as business needs require. This position requires the ability to respond to priority matters and emergencies outside of normal business hours when circumstances require. Minimum Education: Master's degree Addtional Education Requirements Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 5 years threat assessment and management Minimum Skills: Experience working with a heterogeneous population. Excellent problem-solving skills, written and oral communication skills, and listening skills. Proven interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop good stakeholder relationships and work effectively with students, faculty, staff, administrators, law enforcement, patients, and physicians. Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to undertake multiple tasks simultaneously. High standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
