Department Overview

Enterprise Support Services function is to provide complete operations and maintenance service support so that our physical facilities (buildings, equipment, machinery, systems and grounds) may operate at an optimum. Optimization of our facilities will promote and ensure safe, clean, and compatible working conditions for employees. Enterprise Support Services activities include building maintenance and repair, office space planning and associated move coordination, leasing administration (building/property), construction project management and Physical Security. This area also assists with corporate office moves, reconfiguration projects for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama and affiliate companies.

Primary Responsibilities

The incoming Mail Lead provides operational leadership for inbound mailroom activities and supports management in overseeing daily workflow, service levels, and operational effectiveness. The position coordinates the receipt, processing, distribution, and tracking of inbound mail and packages; assigns and monitors work; trains and supports team members; and serves as a primary point of contact for operational issues.

The role works closely with internal business partners and vendors to ensure timely and accurate service delivery, resolves operational concerns, supports process improvement initiatives, and participates in special projects. The position serves as a backup for essential mailroom functions and is designated as an essential on-site role.

Summary of Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience researching and analyzing data and preparing reports
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience in a position interacting with all levels of internal staff with minimal supervision
  • Experience easily adapting to changes in the work environment and collaborating on assignments across multiple lines of business activities
  • Experience in a position diagnosing problems and effectively recommending solutions
  • Valid US driver's license
  • Willingness to lift weights of up to 50lbs. frequently
  • Bachelor's Degree or in lieu of a degree, 5 years of relevant experience specifically in mailroom operations and a production driven environment meeting timeliness and accuracy goals is strongly preferred
  • Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred
Work Location

The work schedule for this position will be full time onsite.
