The Role:


Work Model: On-Site


Work Schedule: 3 days per week (Monday/Wednesday/Friday), 4 hours per day; not to exceed 20 hours per week


Travel Requirements: Minimal/Occasional local travel to locations, rail ramps, or terminals may be requested with advanced notice


Supervisory Responsibilities: No


Reports to: VP, Pricing

Summary / Primary Role:


The Rotational Intern will gain hands-on exposure to the freight transportation and logistics industry by rotating through key functions of the business, which may include Intermodal Operations, Sales, Pricing, and Finance. The intern will support day-to-day team activities, complete assigned projects, and deliver a capstone project presented to leadership at the end of the program. This role is designed to develop business, analytical, and communication skills while building an understanding of how Odyssey serves its customers.



What You'll Do:



  • Complete structured rotations across key business functions, which may include Intermodal Operations, Sales, Pricing, and Finance.
  • Support the operations team with day-to-day shipment tracking, scheduling, and customer and carrier communications.
  • Assist Sales and Pricing teams with market research, rate analysis, and preparation of customer proposals.
  • Support Finance with data entry, invoice and accessorial review, and reconciliation activities.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze data in Excel to build reports and identify trends or improvement opportunities.
  • Shadow team members and leaders to learn the intermodal and freight transportation industry.
  • Own a capstone project addressing a real business challenge and present findings and recommendations to leadership at the end of the program.
  • Participate in intern program activities, including training sessions, networking events, and site visits.
  • Work within the parameters of Company policy and maintain the confidentiality of customer and Company information.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned.



What You Bring:



  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program (rising junior or senior preferred) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Finance, Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 preferred.
  • No prior industry experience required; previous internship, work, or leadership experience is a plus.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Intermediate Excel skills are a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and comfort working with internal teams and customers.
  • Eagerness to learn, ability to take initiative, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.



Compensation & Schedule Details:


Base Pay Range: $15.00/hour

Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location, or other relevant factors. The salary range for this position may be lower or higher in different markets.
