Medical Center - Anesthesiology (Full-time, Day Shift) - Our mission is to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ. The Anesthesia Technician-Lead is certified through the American Society of Anesthesiology Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) and is a prominent member of the anesthesia care team. Makes daily anesthesia tech assignments to assist the licensed anesthesia provider in clinical settings where anesthesia is administered at all sites licensed under Loma Linda University Medical Center and Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. Reviews the operating room schedule and Non-Operating Room Anesthesia (NORA) procedure schedule to ensure coverage in a fast-paced environment with multiple schedule changes throughout the day. Serves as a role model and provides positive influence to initiate and facilitate change. Prepares appropriate instruments, equipment and supplies for the administration of each age-specific type of anesthesia. Demonstrates practical knowledge and expertise in all areas of anesthesia (general anesthesia, procedure-related sedation, and regional techniques). Assists with operating room turnover and patient flow. Serves as a resource to anesthesia technicians and demonstrates innovative problem-solving skills. Achieves and maintains a trusting and credible working relationship with anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, anesthesia techs and operating room administration and staff. Performs other duties as needed. High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. Minimum two years of experience as an anesthesia technician required. American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians Certification required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. In-depth knowledge of anesthesia technology and technician duties and scope of practice required. Knowledge of related healthcare regulations and survey process required. Ability to apply theoretical concepts to anesthesia technology and technician practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills. Exhibits professional behavior at all times. Able to read and write legibly in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, electronic medical record, electronic event reporting program; relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate; accept direction; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; distinguish colors and smells as necessary to position; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place/patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position.
