Lecturer in Natural Sciences: Physics AY 2024-2025

Applicants internal to the UCM Department of Physics who had an appointment in 2023-2024 and apply by the "Initial Review Date" of 3/15/2024 will be considered prior to all other applicants.

The School of Natural Sciences anticipates hiring full and part-time lecturer positions to teach the following subjects in AY 2024-2025:

Introductory Physics I for Physical Sciences

Introductory Physics II for Physical Sciences

Introductory Physics I for Biological Sciences

Introductory Physics II for Biological Sciences

Other courses as needed

In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor will be evaluating student work and exams, calculating and posting grades, and holding regular posted office hours each week.

This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Appointments for AY 2024/2025 and/or Fall 2024 semester are reviewed in April, and for Spring 2025 semester are reviewed in October. The posting will remain open through February 2025 to accommodate upcoming course needs and new applicants.

Fall Semester: 8/1/2024 - 12/31/2024

Spring Semester: 1/1/2025 - 5/31/2025

Advanced degree in Physics or related field and experience teaching at the college or university level is required.
